Adoption Fees for Cats
$ 40.00 Adoption of a kitten or cat (not spayed or not neutered)
$ 90.00 Spayed or Neutered Cat
$ 50.00 Deposit (prepayment) on the spaying or neutering of a kitten or cat.
Deposits will be returned to the owner of the animal when the Burin Peninsula SPCA received a copy of the vet bill as proof that the animal has been spayed or neutered.

Important Note: There may be more animals at the shelter that are not listed on the website. Sometimes, the web server may be down and updates cannot be added. Sometimes, the workers and volunteers are so over worked that they don’t have time to take photographs when every animal needs attention.

If a furever friend is not old enough to be adopted out which happens to be 8 weeks, we will ONLY accept applications for the furry friend. The furever friend will be held at the shelter until they are old enough to leave.

Hey everyone! It’s me Horatio I’ve been at the SPCA for a few months & am around 4 months old now so I’m still just a kitten. I know some people think us black cats are “bad luck” well I think that’s just silly, I’m not bad luck in fact I think I’ve been very lucky so far, I came to the SPCA to find a new home & have met lots of new furry friends & I get all kinds of attention & love from the nice girls that volunteer & work here & I’ve met all kinds of nice people who come to visit, although I really wish someone would take me home with them but I know my turn is coming eventually. The girls at the shelter cannot figure out why I’m still here, they love me of course, I don’t mean to sound conceited but how could you not I mean I am a pretty handsome little guy and I get along with everyone, people, other kitties & even those big ol goofy dogs! The SPCA girls say that whoever adopts me are going to be lucky to have me because I’m such a good sweet little fellow, see now I can’t be bad luck if you’d be lucky to have me, so the way I see it is I must be more like a furry good luck charm so please come by & meet me & forget all about that silly luck stuff if you look past the color of my fur I think you’ll be happy to find a perfect additon to your family!

Harry Potter is still with us & all of us at the SPCA just cannot figure out why this little guy is still at our shelter, we’ve all just fallen in love with him, he has all of us under his spell & we cannot figure out how come he hasn’t been able to work his magic on anyone else. This guy loves people & other cats & just seems to get along with anyone & everyone, he still runs up to you when you walk in the room & meows as if to say “Pleeeease pick me up”. Harry is only around 4 months old & still very much a kitten who wants nothing more then love, cuddles, snuggles & to play! How can you resist that face?

This is little London however London isn’t that little anymore! Well we should explain because she is not BIG by any means but compared to the teeny tiny little scrap of a kitten that came to our shelter a couple months ago London has grown into a true beauty! While still very much a young kitten at only around 12 weeks old this beautiful girl is growing up at our shelter, while not a bad place to be & little London loves playing with all of her shelter brothers & sisters, a shelter is no place for a kitten to grow up, kittens need a home & family of their own to cuddle up with & snuggle with & spend the rest of their live with! Can you give this little girl a chance to be a part of a real family?

This beautiful little kitten is Diva! Just look at that face! This prissy little girl is a sweetie who loves to play with the other kittens at the shelter almost as much as she loves snuggles from people! But you really have to meet this cutie pie in person because little Diva is special because she has incredibly soft velvetly fur, kinda like bunny rabbit fur & we guarantee once you pick her up you will not want to put her down again!

Meet Tounces! This little 7-8 week old boy is Mr.Personality & is sure to keep you entertained. While very friendly & oh so lovable this little guy is also full of devilment & loves getting into mischief with his littermates!

This beautiful girl is Molly, a 2 year old SPAYED female cat who is looking for a new home. Molly is a wonderful friendly cat who gets along well with other cats & loves people! Molly will run up to you when you enter the room & meow at you as if to say “HELLO, please pet me!” Won’t you stop by to meet this lovable girl!

Meet Lily! This lovely little girl is only 7-8 week old & is the only little girl in her litter & has 4 crazy brothers! Lilly is a very sweet kitten & loves to play & at times can get just as frisky as her brothers!

Meet Issac! Issac is a 7-8 week old male kitten & probably the most relaxed & laid back of the bunch. While the rest of his family are going crazy & playing Issac is more likely to be curled up somewhere napping away, but don’t get us wrong he has his fair share of playfulness as well!

This is Willie a young male kitten! Willie is quite laid back & while the other kittens he shares a room with are going mad this guy is usually more content to chill out & take a nap or get cuddles from people, don’t be surprised if this guy talks to you if you meet him at the SPCA he love people so much when you walk in the room he runs up to you & meows as if to say “Pick me up please”. But don’t let his relaxed nature fool you Willie has his spurts of playfulness from time to time & then he can go crazy with the best of them. If your looking for a kitten this guy could be the kitten for you!

Chester came to our shelter with his mom Tabitha but now this little boy is ready to find a new loving home all his own. This little guy loves playing with people & the other kittens at the shelter but also loves to be cuddled & snuggled as well.
