Clover is up for adoption
Clover is up for adoption
Dogs generally no matter how gentle they are, show some aggression when a situation arises that scares or threatens them; a stranger coming up the driveway, an unfamiliar dog on their turf. Charlie seems to have been born without the ability to anger.
He walks up to kennels and has no idea that the barking dog inside there is protecting its territory. The dog is usually dumbfounded when Charlie approaches, wagging his tail like he’s an old friend dropping by for a visit. Quickly the dog learns, Charlie is no threat. He seems to get along with every dog he meets.
He almost instantly puts even the most cautious cat at ease. He is absolutely non-invasive and leaves the decision to approach to the cat. He’s an absolute doll with people.
Charlie’s premature greying masks his youthful energy and he has been estimated to be about 6 years old. Charlie rarely barks except when it’s time for his walk. He does a little jump and an excited “beagle bae” by the door. He loves to play with other dogs and he and Thunder wear each other out, wrestling in the exercise yard.
If you speak to or hold him abruptly Charlie stiffens and cowers. It’s very sad to think that an animal that only knows to treat others with kindness has learned to expect to be mistreated. Charlie needs to feel safe in a loving home and is available for adoption.
Charlie has been examined and will need to be neutered and have some work done on his teeth. We think Charlie is well worth the investment into his health.
We are currently looking for donations toward his care which is estimated to be a minimum of $800.00.

Frost immediately catches your attention with those piercing blue eyes. He’s absolutely beautiful. Frost arrived from a home and found the transition to shelter life very unsettling at first. He has finally settled in and feels much more secure in his new environment. Frost always remained kind and gentle as he explored many experiences that seemed new to him like being walked with a leash. He will continue to need some training, but during home visits, was quite relaxed in home and in car.
Frost would not be able to share a home with cats and will need to be neutered.

Thunder is a 3 yr old male shepherd mix. We’re not quite sure which breed may have lent to those unique round tipped ears but we know underneath those ears, rests the mind of a remarkably gentle dog. Thunder has interacted well with all other shelter dogs he’s met. He’s so passive in the company of cats that their inhibitions are quickly put to rest, shortly after they meet. He loves people and has
a list of quirky little uncertainties that make him endearing. For instance, he was afraid to cross a hose that was newly placed across a familiar trail and continued to hop over it, until he passed the area enough that he knew it would not harm him.
Thunder has had trouble gaining weight because he appears to be very sensitive to changes in his food. When he first arrived, Thunder seemed to be always hungry and sometimes showed aggression over his food. We’ve finally got him on a brand that agrees with him and at last, he leaves food in his dish. His food aggression issue appears to be subsiding as a result but to be cautious, we are looking for a home with no children under 10 years of age.
Thunder will need to be neutered.
